Govt utilising resources to overcome energy crisis: Abid

FAISLABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Ch Abid Sher Ali has said the government was utilizing an all-out resources to overcome energy crisis in the country.
Addressing a function held at the residence of PML-N leader Rana Javed Iqbal on completion of carpet road and PCC streets in NA-84 here Sunday, he said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif wanted to provide the maximum relief to the masses by reducing power tariff and prices of petroleum products.
He said the ministry of water and power had focused hydropower projects to produce cheap electricity, adding that a number of new projects were being started to overcome the crisis while projects in pipeline were being completed with fast speed.
"The PML-N government believes in welfare of the people," he said, adding that when the PML-N came to power, unschedule power loadshedding, inflation and unemployment was high but the incumbent government had controlled the situation within one year.
Abid Sher Ali said a record development schemes costing billion of rupees were being executed in NA-84, adding that problems confronted to people will be resolved soon.
