Popular SRL Leagues for Fans of Cricket

Image

Cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world today. With over two billion fans around the world, the game is only next to football and basketball in terms of fans. Though the roots of cricket can be traced to England (where it is a national sport, and still incredibly popular), today the game is most beloved in Southeast Asia. Countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, etc. have the highest number of cricket fans in the world. So, it is no surprise that SRL is becoming a hit in these countries.

What is SRL?

SRL is a short-form for Simulated Reality League. As technology develops, fans are discovering new ways to enjoy their favorite hobbies, whether that be video games, sports, or even gambling. By using computer analytics, simulated reality technology, and machine learning, sports fans have created the Cricket Simulated Reality League.

As the name suggests, the SRL is a computer-generated version of popular cricket leagues. Whether that be the Big Bash League SRL, the Pakistan Super League, or the Indian Premier League, or maybe even a fully original SRL, based entirely on data is up to the participants. SRL is growing ever more popular, not just in the world of cricket fandom, but also in the sports betting world.

So, now that we know what SRL is, we can discuss the most popular SRL Leagues. Most of the time, the popularity of an SRL depends on the success of the league proper. So, there will certainly be a lot of overlap between notable land-based cricket leagues, and their SRL counterparts.

The Big Bash SRL

The Big Bash is one of the most successful cricket leagues in the world. Organized by Cricket Australia, and sponsored by the fried chicken restaurant chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken, the Big Bash League sees eight of Australia’s top cricket teams compete for the championship title. The Perth Scorchers are the most successful team in the Big Bash League, having won 5 championships, with their latest one being the most recent tournament.

The success of the Big Bash League also reflects in the SRL community. The Big Bash SRL is undoubtedly one of the most successful simulated reality leagues. SRL in general is huge in Australia, so it is unsurprising that the BBL is as popular as it is. The most fascinating aspect of the BBL SRL is that it can often have different results from the Big Bash League proper. Which means, even fans of the real BBL will retain some suspense.

The Pakistan Super SRL

The majority of cricket fans are concentrated in Southeast Asian countries like Pakistan. So, it shouldn’t shock anyone to learn that the Pakistan Super League is highly successful, and incredibly popular. Six of the best Pakistani teams come together and play Twenty20 cricket in an attempt to become the next champions.

In the Pakistan Super Simulated Reality League, the information and data gathered from the Pakistan Super League proper is processed and rendered, creating a slew of possible outcomes. As is the case with all SRL leagues, the results may often differ from the games themselves. Which is what makes SRL so exciting in the first place.

Notable Honorable Mentions

The two SRL leagues discussed in this article are certainly quite successful. However, they are not all that SRL fans have to look forward to. The biggest cricket league in the world today is the Indian Premier League. And as the concept of SRL is growing in the country, more people around the world are getting into the Indian Premier Simulated Reality League.
