MULTAN: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Sunday said that the government would control the gas and electricity crisis in the coming months.

Addressing a ceremony in connection with birth anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Gilani said that the government would continue with the support of the people and would carry forward Bhuttos' mission.

He said that conspiracies against the government were foiled as the coalition partners of PPP stood with them.

"We will fulfill the promises made by the Bhutto family with the people of Pakistan," he added. He said the coalition government restored the constitution with the support of the people.

He reminded that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave constitution to the country and Benazir Bhutto gave the missile technology.

For the defence of the country, constitution and PPP as a federal party are indispensable, he added.

He said that ZAB boosted the sense of dignity in the people and now all bigwigs come to the people seeking their votes.

He said that PPP was a federal party and attempts to weaken it would harm country's interests. He said that the federal party and the constitution were vital for strengthening the country.

Gilani said that PPP-led government countered many challenges, and difficulties from the very beginning, adding that the government had also been facing conspiracies from the day one but was surviving successfully by virtue of support of the masses.

He said that the PPP was a federal party having popular support of people, including peasants, growers, workers and other poor segments of society in all the four provinces besides Azad Kashmir, Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Gilgit-Baltistan. It was this popularity that paved the way for party's victory with comfortable majority in recent AJK elections, he added.

The prime minister reiterated his commitment to solve all the problems of the people, adding that the government gave autonomy to the provinces. He said that Saraiki province would also be set up to end the sense of deprivation of the people of that area.

The people of southern Punjab will have their own assembly and take decisions in accordance with their will to solve their own problems, he added.

"Some elements say that we are politicking on Saraiki province issue and were not serious in it, but, I want to ask should we launch move for the purpose or adopt the constitutional way," Gilani questioned, adding that the government was moving forward on the issue in accordance with the constitution.

End.

As usual a LIE just to calm people down

All these leaders lie. It will not end, It will become worst. They are making these statements just to calm people down and get relected. People should protest and throw these CORRUPT leaders in Jail and make them suffer(no electricity, no food) just like the poor people who cannot make money because they are losing jobs because the industries are not operating and labourers cannot find work. They have NO sympathy. Who will these leaders rule when there is nothing left because of their corruption and mismanagement. There needs to be a BIG change VERY SOON. These leaders should be called termites eating up anything and everything they can get their hands on.
