RAWALPINDI, May 13 (Online): Ruling out the chance of general elections before 2007 President General Pervez Musharraf Thursday asserted that there is no change of government, whatsoever.
He observed this in a brief interaction with the media after conferring Hilal-e-Pakistan on Prince Nahayan bin Mabarak Al-Nahayan in Rawalpindi.
President Pervez Mushaffraf emphasized that the elections to the local government will take place this year while national elections would be held in 2007.
He said the political situation is quite right, there is normal political activity and everything is going smoothly.
President General Pervez Musharraf conferred Hilal-e-Pakistan on Prince Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak al-Nahyan in recognition of his outstanding contribution to promote close economic relations with Pakistan.
Highest civil award of the country was conferred on the prince Nahayan at a special investiture ceremony attended by Federal Ministers and Ministers of States and members of the delegation of the Prince in Rawalpindi.
President Pervez Musharraf later described confrontment of award on the UAE prince as an acknowledgement of his contribution to promote investment in the country.
President said Abu Dhabi group led by the Prince has invested in the banking, real estate and telecommunication sectors. He said today's award marks Pakistan's recognition of his outstanding service for the fostering of commercial and investment bondage between the two brotherly countries.
