ISLAMABAD, November 21(Online): Chairman Senate Mohammed mian Soomro has said that Pakistan greatly values its friendship to the United States as both the countries shared common values for establishing peace in the world.

He stated this while addressing reception ceremony, he hosted in honour of US senator George Allen here on Sunday. He said that US senator visit to Pakistan was a part of his social service activities and aimed at having an on the spot knowledge of the post earthquake situation.

US senator thanked Pakistan on the occasion stating on behalf of the people of United States for taking such courageous and bold step regarding war on terror. He said that recent earthquake in Pakistan has caused a great damage to the infrastructure and hundreds of thousands of people have been rendered homeless whose rehabilitation would take a long time.

Earlier, he called on the senate chairman at his residence and discussed with him matter of mutual interest.
