ISLAMABAD, November 27 (Online): The Cabinet Committee on Fund Raising from Business Community for Earthquake Relief has realized more than Rs.8.4 billion from Business groups for earthquake relief while the remaining business groups contacted by the Committee are in the process to respond in this regard.

Dr. Georg Wachtel General Manager OMV Pakistan handed over a consignment of 20 winterize tents to Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh Federal Minister for Privatisation & Investment for the Earthquake victims, each having heating facility and a capacity to accommodate eight persons. OMV Austria had already dispatched 40 numbers of such tents to the affected areas in addition to cash contribution of US $ 0.5 million to the President’s Relief Fund, Dr. Georg Wachtel informed the Minister.

The Minister appreciated the concern of OMV Austria for their support for the affected people and said that it would set a good example for timely and required help and urged the others not to make unnecessary delay in their contributions in cash and kind as the advent of winter was a big threat for the victims, particularly for the innocent children and the old age persons.
