ISLAMABAD,: The Government granted petroleum exploration license to Techno Petroleum (Pvt) Limited (TPPL) on Thursday over block No 2770-9 (Islam Garh) covering an area of 2229.51 square kilometers.
Islam Garh block lies in Bhawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan District of Punjab province in Zone-11.
TPPL intends to make an investment of US $ 3.70 million in aforesaid lock to carry out geological and geophysical studies, 2D seismic acquisition of 150 line Km and will also drill one exploratory well during phase-1 of the initial period of three years.
TPPL is a new local E&P company to whom exploration license has been given through competitive bidding. Besides this the company has ten percent working interest in Yasin Block.
The execution ceremony was witnessed by Amanullah Khan Jadoon, Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources and Muhammad Nasser Mengal, Minister of state for petroleum and Natural Resources.
The license and the petroleum concession agreement were signed by Ahmed Waqar, secretary Petroleum and Natural Resources on behalf of President Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Naeem Malik, Director General Petroleum concessions and Abid Ali, chief executive TPPL.
The chief executive techno petroleum also held a meeting with the Federal Minister for petroleum and discussed with him investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
Jadoon said that the government was encouraging and facilitating the perspective investors and providing them attractive package of incentives in most investor friendly environment. He hoped that local petroleum companies would take full advantages of it to play their full role. |
