KARACHI: Pakistan win third test and the series by defeating India by 341 runs in Karachi test as the formidable Indian batting fall flat against the bowling attack of the home side on Wednesday, the fourth day of the last test.

Young seamer Mohammad Asif disposed of India`s three top-order batsmen in quick time, while all rounder Abdul Razzaq captured four Indian middle order wickets.

The tourists, set an improbable victory target of 607, need to bat for two days to save the series after the first two Tests in Lahore and Faisalabad were drawn. India were allout for 265 runs in their second innings in Karachi test.

Asif, a tall seamer from Sheikhupura, dismissed Virender Sehwag, Venkatsai Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar in a hostile seven-over spell.

Pakistan got off to a perfect start when they removed openers Rahul Dravid and Sehwag in the first two overs of the innings. Skipper Dravid was given out caught at the wicket by Kamran Akmal off pace spearhead Shoaib Akhtar`s fifth legitimate delivery. Sehwag was dismissed in the next over, his middle stump uprooted by a sharp in-cutter from Asif.
Laxman and Tendulkar put on 55 on either side of the lunch interval before Asif stepped in to stop both batsmen in their tracks.

Yuvraj was the only Indian batsmen, which bravely faced fierce Pakistan bowling attack successfully in his 122 runs knock. Sehwag 4, Tendulkar 26, Ganguly 37, Laxman 21, Dhoni 18, Irfan Pathan 4, Kumble 5, have lost their wickets cheaply.

End.

What do you think about the story?

Read what others have to say

Beating India is not the right language to use instead it should read like this "Indian team crushed and bundled by Pakistani Team. It was a humiliating defeat for Indian Team and their Coach needs to be sent for more training how to accept defeats and avoid using defaming words for winner players. If the same cricketer was Ok in previous two matches when they were drawn why picking on him. An ex cricketer of Australia and now Coach should have courage to accept the facts what whole world was watching and witnessing the remarkable bowling and batting by Pakistanis.
