DERA BUGTI: Chief of Jamhori Watan Party Nawab Akbar Bugti was buried here on Friday in his ancestral graveyard. Maulana Mohammad Malook Bugti from the tribe led the funeral prayer. None among the heirs of Nawab Akbar Bugti were present on this occasion.
The coffin of Nawab Akbar Bugti absolutely sealed was brought to Dera Bugti in a helicopter from the site of Kohlu.
After the funeral prayers Bugti was laid to rest in his native graveyard along side his brother Ahmed Nawaz Bugti and son Saleem Bugti.
No one from the Bugti family attended the funeral prayers and less than two dozens people attended his funeral.
Stern security arrangements were made on this occasion.
DCO Dera Bugti, Abdul Samad Lasi told that the heirs and relations of the deceased were contacted for attending the funeral and waited for them for over 20 minutes but they didn`t show up, but they demanded handing over the body to the heirs.
The DCO told the media that the condition of the body was deteriorating, as it was lying in the cave for several days, which had made its immediate burial imperative. He also told that there was no need to show the face of late Bugti as Maulana Malok had already identified him.
DCO further told that a ring, glasses, watch and a cane had been found from nearby the body due to which we identified the body as that of late Nawab Bugti`s.
Lasi told that Bugti`s face and legs were intact while the middle part of his body was badly damaged as it had come under a boulder.
He said that we had made special arrangements to fly over Nawab Bugti`s family for attending the funeral but they did not come of their own will.
He said that the Bugti family itself is facing family rifts as one group wanted his body to be buried in Dera Bugti while the other group was demanding that his body be buried in Quetta. He said in fear that the dead body might decompose the government decided to bury the body in Dera Bugti.
Lasi told that if any one has any suspicion than the government would cooperate for holding of DNA test.
On the occasion DCO Dera Bugti showed journalists the cane, purse and the watch used by Nawab Bugti, a foul smell was coming out of the purse and Rs 15,000 were found from it.
DCO told that senior FC officers and other officials were also present at the time of burial.
Shops near Akbar Bugti`s house remained closed however in other cities things were normal.
Meanwhile Secretary General JWP Agha Shahid Bugti termed the burial of the late Nawab Akbar Bugti as regrettable act and said burial without the presence of family members is unIslamic and the government has trampled on all Islamic rituals.
He told that the government had contacted them a few days ago and had said that they would take us to the site, but nothing of the sort happened.
He said that the journalists attending the funeral were not even allowed to see the face of the late Nawab. He said that if the son of the late Bugti had attended the funeral he would have meted out the same treatment.
