ISLAMABAD: The upper house of the parliament on Friday passed a resolution condemning the derogatory remarks of the Pope Benedict XVI against Islam and the Prophet Mohammad and demanded that the Pope retract his remarks "in the interest of harmony between religions".
The resolution was tabled in the Senate by the leader of the House Wasim Sajjad
"The derogatory remarks of the Pope about the philosophy of jihad and Prophet Mohammed have injured sentiments across the Muslim world and pose the danger of spreading acrimony among the religions," the resolution stated.
The resolution further demanded that the pope retracts his remarks "in the interest of harmony between religions and apologises for hurting the sentiments of the Muslims around the world.
Wasim Sajjad, Prof Khurshid, Kamil Ali Agha, Abdul Malik, Abdul Rahim Mandokhel and others inked the resolution.
The resolution was adopted unanimously by both treasury as well as opposition members.

All religious leaders whether catholic, other christian denominations or of Islam try to promote & spread their religion & their view of god or gods for their own personal gains (basically for MONEY & POWER)
