Ludhiana: Close on the heels of talks with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on the sidelines of the NAM summit in Havana to collectively counter terrorism, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday said he looked forward to improving bilateral trade ties via the Wagah border in Punjab.

"I must say that over the last two years we have taken a number of steps to improve relations with Pakistan and the people of Punjab have benefitted through better bus connections and trade opportunities," the Prime Minister said at a public meeting here.

He said the infrastructure at Wagah was also being improved to make it a major trade point between India and Pakistan.
