BANARAS: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan with his family, wife Jaya Bachan and son Abhishek, and his likely-to-be daughter-in-law beauty diva Ashwariya Rai landed here in Hindus` holy city of Banaras Sunday night.
Indian media speculated that this visit to the hold visit was concerning the marriage Abhishek Bachchan and Ashwariya Rai.
An Indian television reported Amitabh Bachchan as saying that his family will stay in Banaras where it is scheduled to perform religious rituals in Kaashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi and Sankat Mochan Mandir at 3am and 5am, respectively. A visit to the Ganga Ghat may also be on the cards.
Banaras is considered the most sacred city in Hinduism, which is why Bachchan family`s arrival in the city is speculated to have some connection with the most-awaited marriage, as the highly-talked-about affair between Abhishek and ex-Miss Universe Ashwariya Rai in Bollywood.
The caravan also included Amitabh`s daughter Shewta Nanda, brother Ajitabh Bachchan and Ajitabh`s daughter Namrita, which is why security is put on high alert in the city. |
