PTA rejects rumors of mobile virus threat

KARACHI: A man puts off his mobile following the rumours of a deadly virus in mobiles.

KARACHI: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has rejected the reports that a call from a particular number causing damage to human body and life has said that no such virus was found in mobile phones anywhere in the country that cause death or damage to human body.

It is to be mentioned here that on Friday some reports and an SMS messages remain in circulation cautioning the customers not to attend call from a particulr number as it causes sever damage to brain and kill persons.

A spokesman of PTA said that the authority has conducted inquiry into the virus threat and no such virus was found in mobile phone.

Technically speaking, there is no computer software that affects human health, he cleared.

He maintained that the computer virus were software programmes that affected computer software operating system and did not harm any living beings.

Furthermore, the mobile handsets are built on specific standard across the world keeping in view the safety of human health, he added.

He appealed to mobile customer not to believe on such rumors.

I think that in this day and age, if this kind of technology was available, the US would have it first and go on a rampage and NOT using cell phones, I think that people that do not know about the properties of cell phones should go take a course in them, because as Star Trek as this seems it is only that, I mean what happened right before the Millenium hit, people went into a freenzy because they thought it was the end of the world for crying out loud and guess what happened WE ALL WOKE UP THE NEXT DAY with a years supply of food!!!...I know we are technologically advancing everyday, but I dont think we are there yet, sorry to all you trekies that beleive...:)
