CJ Iftikhar regrets his Indian tour for "Int`l Jurists Award-2009"

ISLAMABAD: Due to judicial professional commitments, it would not be possible for Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Chief Justice of Pakistan to participate as a special guest in the "International Conference of Jurists", scheduled to be held in New Delhi and Agra (India) from 21st to 23rd November, 2009 .

The Honorable CJP was to receive "the International Jurists Award-2009" to be presented by the President of India Ms. Pratibha D. Patil, at the Plenary Auditorium of Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, India.

Organizers have informed that this program shall be rescheduled and the date shall be fixed later on, as per convenience of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has conveyed its deepest regrets to the Organizers for the reasons mentioned above.
