RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench on Friday served notices to former president Pervez Musharraf and former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi for December 2 in the Benazir Bhutto murder case.

Also notified were Brigadier (r) Javed Iqbal Cheema and former superintendent of police Khurram Shahzad.

The bench also directed to initiate ex-parte proceedings against Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan, former Intelligence Bureau director general Ijaz Shah and former Rawalpindi district coordination officer (DCO) Irfan Elahi in the petition seeking the registration of a criminal conspiracy case regarding Benazir’s assassination.

The respondents had failed to appear before the court in person or through their counsels despite receiving court notices.

End.
