ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari Monday urged investors from Qatar to focus on Pakistan’s energy, infrastructure, information technology and construction sectors.

Talking to the outgoing ambassador of Qatar, Hamad Ali Jabir Al- Hinzab during his farewell call, the President said Pakistan values its cordial and friendly relations with the brotherly Muslim country and desires to further strengthen cooperation in all fields.

He said the two countries can have an intensified cooperation in the economic, commercial, investment, manpower and energy sectors and said Pakistan offers numerous investment opportunities in diverse areas.

The President also called for increased contacts between the business communities of the two countries and said the presence of 90,000 Pakistani communities in Qatar manifests the strong bilateral ties between the two countries. He expressed hope that Qatar would recruit additional manpower from Pakistan including doctors, engineers and IT specialists.

President Zardari said Pakistan looks forward to the visit of Emir of Qatar to Pakistan and said it will further deepen their bilateral ties.

The President appreciated the services rendered by the outgoing ambassador for bringing the two countries closer and strengthening the bilateral ties.

The President wished him every success in his future assignments. The outgoing ambassador of Qatar thanked the President for the support extended to him during his stay in Pakistan.
