LARKANA: President Asif Ali Zardari has said Pakistan is in safe hands adding we will lay down our lives but no harm will be allowed to be caused to the country .
President said this while addressing inauguration ceremony of Khairpur- Larkana bridge here Tuesday. The bridge has been built at the cost of Rs 9 billion. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Chaudhry Safdar Warraich, speaker Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmad Khoro, provincial information minister Shazia Marri and others were also present on the occasion.
President held suicide attacks and terrorist acts could neither weaken the democratic government nor such activities could cow down us. War against the terrorists would continue, he announced. Anti state elements and terrorists were engaged in such terror acts in sheer confusion and they would be dealt with severely, he warned.
"We are unwavering in our commitment. We will change the system at every cost by following in the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto", he remarked.
Those conspiring to fan sectarian violence in Karachi, disrupt the peace of the city and cause harm to the economy would be exposed, he declared. The elements involved in killing the innocent people were enemies of Pakistan and humanity and they could not be Muslims , he maintained. "We will counter terrorists with the cooperation of all the parties", he held.
Federal government would pay compensation to the affectees of Karachi blast, he said. Nishan-e-Imtiaz would be conferred on the Rangers’ personnel who were martyred in the suicide attack and a road in Karachi would be named after them, he declared.
The equitable distribution of water among the provinces would be ensured and no injustice would be allowed to be done to any province , he added. All the provinces would be given their rights, he held. About 300 small dams would be built in Sindh to stop wastage of water, he said.
