Son of SSP, his five accomplices sentenced to death

KARACHI, February 10 (Online): Judge Haq Nawaz Baloch of Anti terrorism court No 5 here has awarded death sentence for two counts to Fida Hussain Khoso, son of SSP Nadir Khoso and his five accomplices on the charges of kidnapping son of a car dealer for ransom.

Fida Hussain Khoso and his accomplices including Junaid Rehman son of PCA of deputy collector, Qurban Ali Khoso, Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Attique Bajwa and Khalid Aziz were involved in kidnapping for ransom case of Ahmad Naeem son of Muhammad Naeem, a car dealer.

This gang of kidnappers was apprehended after they had extorted Rs 6.1 million in Manchester in August, 2004 as ransom for releasing Ahmad Naeem. The gang had abducted Ahmad Naeem on June 11, 2004 in the area of Gazri near his residence.

Two accused including Mujeeb Khan Bhutto and Ghulam Khan Bhutto who were stated to be son SP Anoo Khan Bhutto were captured by police along with an another accomplice Saeed Naqvi soon after receiving the ransom money. Four accused in this case including Mujeeb ur Rehman Bhutto, Shahzad Ali Siddiqui, Yasir Khoso and Nasir Khoso are absconding.

The members of this gang Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Attiq Bajwa and Khalid Aziz had kidnapped Ahmad Naeem at gun point when he was passing through second gazri street in his car. CPLC and anti violent crime cell registered a case on the statement of Muhammad Iqbal, driver of Ahmad Naeem and started investigation of the case.

The accused kept Ahmad Naeem for 62 days in the residence of Qurban Khoso located in Goth Bilal Colony.

Mujeeb Bhutto headed for London a week after abduction of Ahmad Naeem and demanded Rs 50 million from his parents as ransom. Parents of Ahmad Naeem received a letter from him in which he had informed them that Bhutto would contact them for collection of ransom.

Mujeeb Bhutto remained in constant contact with parents of Ahmad Naeem who agreed to pay Rs 6.10 million. Bhutto asked them to send the ransom money to Manchester through hundi forthwith. Mujeeb also informed parents of Ahmad Naeem about a phone No and a currency Note number asking them to pay ransom money to holder of this phone No and currency note No. CPLC appointed their operator in Manchester for payment of ransom money.

On receipt of this money on August 11, Mujeeb Bhutto asked Fida Hussain Khoso on mobile phone to release Ahmad Naeem. Khoso dropped Ahmad Naeem nearby his residence in defence on the night between August, 11-12, 2004 in car No T-15-E.

Soon after release, Mujeeb Bhutto, Ghulam Bhutto and Syed Naqvi were arrested in Manchester on the same night. The ransom money, which was got converted into pounds, was recovered from their possession.

Manchester Police in collaboration with anti-violent crime cell Karachi arrested Fida Khoso and Junaid Ansari on August, 13. Qurban Khoso and Abdul Rashid were nabbed on August, 20 and Khalid Aziz and Attique Bajwa were arrested on October 9, 2004.

The gang was involved in kidnapping of several eminent people including a builder Muhammad Ali. With the pronouncement of punishment, a key gang of kidnappers has been eliminated.
