This news is about "Jaan ". She became the first eunuch in India to be elected to the post of mayor, in the city of Katni. I feel it is a great acheivement because Enunchs were/are not treated well atleast in Indian society. Becoming a mayor for an anyone is not easy when you look at the type of politics that goes in our subcontinent. I am not aware how they are treated in Pakistan. any one ? Bitter the same is true for India. The mayor is an exception. Mostly they dance , sing. Harass people in the trains to get money out of them and make a living. I do not mind them harassing, as the society has not left many avenues open to them. They do not have many options to earn a living. They are real nice people too, I got friendly with one on a train and he/she was fun to talk with. I was 18 then travelling alone, and the enunch was asking me cheeky questions, so I enjoyed it.
