MONCHENGLADBACH, Germany: Australia qualified for the final of the field hockey World Cup tournament, after defeating South Korea 4-2 in the first semifinal here on Friday.

The Aussies scored their goals through George (38th minute), Brooks (51), Dwyer (60) and McCann (70).

The Koreans, who had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half, netted the goals in the 31st and 41st minutes through Jang and Kang respectively. Hosts Germany were due to play against Spain in the second semifinal later yesterday.
