PESHAWAR — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday issued a stern warning over recent unprovoked firing by Afghan forces near the Pakistan border, calling it a direct infringement of Pakistan’s sovereignty and a danger to regional stability.
He described the attacks as reckless and said they not only jeopardize civilian lives but also erode the foundational principles of good neighbourly relations.
In a public statement, the governor lauded the professionalism and resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces, declaring that every inch of the country’s territory would be defended with courage and unwavering commitment. He urged political actors to set aside differences and unite behind the country’s security institutions.
Governor Kundi reaffirmed that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stand in full solidarity with the armed forces, pledging their support at a time of heightened tension.
