Ali Jehangir Siddiqui: Pioneering Diplomat, Entrepreneurial Visionary, and Philanthropic Leader

Ali Jehangir Siddiqui is a well-known diplomat and businessman from Pakistan who has made substantial contributions to both public service and business. Siddiqui, who was born in Karachi on December 5, 1976, has distinguished himself throughout his career by setting the standard for excellence in a number of fields.

Amb. Ali Jehangir Siddiqui established JS Bank and chaired JS Private Equity Management (JSPE Management), one of the bigger domestic private equity asset management companies. Prior to this, he was the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, holding the rank of Minister of State. Additionally, JS Investments, a mutual fund management company governed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, employed him as an Executive Director.

In addition, Amb. Ali Jehangir Siddiqui has a wealth of philanthropic experience. He was the honorary CEO of the Mahvash and Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation (MJSF), a nonprofit with a focus on social enterprise, healthcare, and education. In collaboration with UN organizations, MJSF carries out initiatives in disaster areas and immediately offers emergency help in times of humanitarian crisis. 

He graduated from US Cornell University with a BA in Economics. He received recognition as a Young Global Leader from the World Economic Forum in 2014. Siddiqui was previously appointed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) administration as Pakistan's ambassador to the United States. He left his position in December of 2018. He was designated as the prime minister's special assistant and had the rank of minister of state before being appointed as an ambassador to the US.

His contribution to the establishment of JS Bank Limited in 2006, which acquired the activities of American Express Bank in Pakistan, was significant. Under his direction, JS Bank has expanded to become a powerful financial organization that now has over 5000 staff members and assets of over $4 billion. With 160 locations throughout Pakistan. 

In addition to his achievements in the corporate world, Ali Jehangir Siddiqui has made major contributions to diplomacy and public service. He has held a number of positions in the government, including that of Pakistan's Ambassador to the US and Special Assistant to the Pakistani Prime Minister, with the rank of Minister of State. Siddiqui has played these parts as an unwavering supporter of Pakistan's interests on the international front, cultivating diplomatic ties and encouraging economic collaboration. 'Pakistan: The Next Great Infrastructure Connector' is another work that Siddiqui wrote for the Atlantic Council.

In his role as Chief Executive Officer of the Mahvash & Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation, he has led multiple programs with the goal of enhancing lives and uplifting communities. In the wake of the terrible 2010 floods in Pakistan, the MJSF coordinated relief activities that brought much-needed assistance to thousands of impacted people, proving his unwavering commitment to humanitarian issues.

Siddiqui has been a devoted patron of the arts in addition to his charitable activities because he understands the transforming power of culture in society. Ali Jehangir Siddiqui's leadership and influence have been recognized with numerous important awards; in 2014, the World Economic Forum designated him a Young Global Leader.
