NORTH WAZIRISTAN – Security forces in Pakistan successfully repelled an infiltration attempt by militants trying to cross from Afghanistan near the Hassan Khel area on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred along the Pak-Afghan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where armed suspects attempted to enter Pakistani territory but were intercepted following a swift military response based on real-time intelligence.
The infiltrators, identified as five Afghan nationals aged between 15 and 18, were captured after taking shelter in a nearby mosque in the Besikhel locality. Three of the individuals were found carrying Afghan identity cards. All five are currently in custody for interrogation at an undisclosed location.
Military authorities confirmed that a significant cache of weapons, communication devices, and other equipment was recovered during the operation. Additional search and clearance efforts remain underway in the surrounding area.
Officials have reiterated Pakistan’s demand that the interim Afghan government prevent cross-border movement of militants and ensure its soil is not used for hostile actions against Pakistan. The armed forces emphasized their commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty and securing its borders against any external threats.
