SIALKOT – In a major crackdown, police in Sialkot have uncovered a drug trafficking network operating through a call centre — with delivery boys, police officials, and a well-organised system behind it.
The gang, led by a man named Asad Ali from Islamabad, used a dedicated call centre to take drug orders which were then delivered across the city by motorbike riders posing as regular delivery agents. Shockingly, the operation was being run with the alleged backing of several police officials.
According to officials, 28 police personnel were linked to the network. Out of these, 16 officers have been dismissed from service, while action has been initiated against the others. Investigators say that the group managed to deliver narcotics efficiently under the cover of a regular courier service, making it difficult to detect.
The police launched the raid after extensive surveillance and call data analysis, successfully arresting Asad and seizing over 1.2 kg of narcotics. Officials confirmed that the network had been operating for several months and had developed a customer base across the region.
Authorities have vowed to continue the crackdown and warned that strict legal action will be taken against all those involved, regardless of rank or uniform.
