Islamabad – Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian is set to arrive in Pakistan on July 26 for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two neighbouring countries.
The visit was confirmed following a telephonic conversation between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. During the call, Momeni extended condolences over the recent flood-related losses in Pakistan, while Naqvi welcomed the upcoming presidential visit as a “significant development in regional cooperation.”
Dr. Pezeshkian will become the second Iranian president in two years to visit Pakistan, following the late President Ebrahim Raisi, who toured Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi in April 2024. The upcoming visit is expected to include high-level meetings, discussions on border security, trade cooperation, and regional connectivity initiatives.
The Iranian leadership has expressed its commitment to advancing mutual interests and addressing cross-border challenges through diplomatic engagement. Officials in Islamabad consider the visit an important gesture that signals continuity in Pakistan-Iran relations under President Pezeshkian’s leadership.
More details regarding the itinerary and potential agreements are expected to be released by the Foreign Office in the coming days.
