Islamabad – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has raised serious concerns over the health and safety of its founder, Imran Khan, urging the government to issue an immediate and transparent clarification to dispel the alarming rumours circulating across social and digital platforms.
In a strongly worded statement, PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram criticised the federal government, Interior Ministry and prison authorities for what he termed “deliberate silence” over Khan’s condition. He stated that false reports pushed by foreign media outlets — particularly from India and Afghanistan — have created widespread anxiety among party supporters and the general public. PTI insisted that such uncertainty is unacceptable and must be addressed without delay.
The party has demanded that Khan’s family members and independent medical professionals be allowed immediate access to verify his well-being. According to PTI, restricting this access only fuels suspicion, raising questions about whether the state is fulfilling its constitutional responsibility toward a former prime minister currently under detention.
Meanwhile, the Adiala Jail administration has categorically denied all rumours, stressing that Imran Khan remains inside the facility and is “hale and hearty.” Officials clarified that no emergency, transfer, or undisclosed medical crisis has taken place, adding that the former premier continues to receive routine supervision and care.
Despite these reassurances, PTI maintains that only direct and independent verification will restore public trust. The party also urged authorities to identify and hold accountable those who are allegedly spreading fabricated reports for political motives.
The situation has added further strain to an already tense political environment. With PTI continuing to challenge the state’s transparency and the government insisting on procedural correctness, the public now awaits a detailed official update that conclusively settles the matter.
