Islamabad — The Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) has revealed that individuals of Afghan nationality were involved in several significant terrorist incidents across Pakistan in 2025, underscoring ongoing security challenges along the country’s western border.
In a briefing to the media, the DG highlighted that multiple attacks targeting civilians, security personnel, and infrastructure have been traced back to networks operating from or linked to Afghanistan. He emphasized that these activities pose serious threats to national stability and require continued vigilance.
Security Measures and Coordination
The military official stressed that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully committed to countering terrorism and ensuring public safety. Coordination with local law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and border management authorities has been intensified to detect and neutralize threats before they can materialize.
He also mentioned that ongoing intelligence-sharing with regional partners plays a crucial role in identifying cross-border operatives and preventing attacks. Authorities continue to monitor suspected militant hideouts and financial networks to disrupt the planning of terrorist operations.
Implications for Regional Stability
The DG’s comments underline the broader challenges facing Pakistan in managing cross-border militancy. Analysts note that regional cooperation and proactive counterterrorism measures are essential to safeguard citizens and maintain stability along sensitive border areas.
Officials reiterated that Pakistan remains determined to eliminate terrorist networks and strengthen internal security, emphasizing that efforts will continue irrespective of evolving external factors.
