NEW YORK: Britain, France and Germany have informed the United Nations Security Council that relief of UN sanctions on Iran would continue.

In a letter to the 15-member body, the three European parties to the nuclear deal said that any decision or action taken to re-impose UN sanctions on Iran would be incapable of legal effect.

The United States had quit the nuclear deal in 2018.
