ECC ratifies proposal to reduce, remove tax incidence at import stage of sugar
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar says ECC has ratified the proposal to reduce and remove the incidence of taxes at import stage of sugar.
In a tweet, he said this will facilitate the private sector imports, improve domestic stocks and stabilise prices.
The Minister said withholding tax at import has been reduced from five point five per cent to zero point two five percent, Value added tax from three percent to nil and sales tax from seventeen percent to one per cent.
