Efforts afoot to improve country’s economy, exports: Governor SBP

KARACHI: Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Reza Baqir says all out efforts are being made to improve economy and exports of the country.

In an interview with a private news channel, he said the incumbent government had to approach International Monetary Fund for addressing country's economic issues.

The Governor State Bank said in order to streamline the system, the government introduced different schemes including low cost housing project for the people drawing meagre salaries and a subsidy has also been given to people on loans at reasonable mark-up rate.

Replying to a question, Reza Baqir said the foreign reserves have increased from seven billion to thirteen billion dollars.

Appreciating the present government, he said the construction sector has been opened to minimize burden on labour community.
