ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue has directed the concerned departments to prevent smuggling of food items out of the country in compliance with the Prime Minister's orders.
In a statement on Friday, the Bureau said that the Prime Minister issued these orders following the shortage of wheat, flour, sugar, maize, flour, poultry, fruits, vegetables and livestock in the country.
It said that the federal government has also introduced the Code 19 Trafficking Prevention Ordinance 2020 to ensure the prevention of trafficking by empowering law enforcement agencies.
