Human Rights groups urge Bangladesh not to ship Rohingya to island

DACCA: Human rights groups have urged Bangladesh to stop its plan to ship thousands of Rohingya refugees to a remote island.

Regional director of Fortify Right Ismail Wolff said Bangladesh should halt this hasty relocation process until all human rights and humanitarian concerns have been resolved.

Amnesty International’s South Asia Campaigner Saad Hammadi in a statement also urged the authorities to immediately halt relocation of more refugees.
