ISLAMABAD: Lt-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa ( Ret'd) on Monday announced his resignation from the office of special assistant to the prime minister on information and broadcasting, just weeks after Imran Khan had refused to accept the same.
In a tweet, Bajwa said he had requested the prime minister to relinquish him from the additional portfolio and added, “He very kindly approved my request.”
Bajwa made this announcement as the prime minister had not accepted the resignation tendered soon after the publication of a news item in which the businesses and assets of Bajwa were reported. However, Bajwa had refuted the allegations.
