It will be difficult for Modi govt to stay in power if controversial farm laws aren't repealed: Farmers

NEW DELHI: The United States has urged India to hold dialogue with the protesting farmers for resolving the issue of farm laws and recognise their right to peaceful protest.

Talking to a news channel, US state Department spokesperson said the protesting farmers should also be given internet facility for access to information as it is their fundamental right.

Meanwhile, in India, the protesting farmers have warned the Modi government that it will find it difficult to stay in power if the new controversial agriculture laws are not repealed.

Addressing a big gathering of protesting farmers at Jind in Haryana, leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union Rakesh Tikait said we have so far talked about repealing the farm laws and the government should listen carefully.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, addressing a press conference in New Delhi said, India's reputation has taken a massive hit saying our soft power has been shattered by the BJP and RSS.
