ISLAMABAD: The Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi has lauded the concept of Blue Economy which will strengthen economy and create job opportunities in the country.
According to Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Blue Economy is aimed at achieving sustainable commercial growth, improving livelihood and creating jobs using ocean resources while preserving and protecting health of oceanic ecosystem.
The move will help further develop several industries including ports and shipping, renewable energy, fisheries, Maritime transportation, tourism, Climate Change and Waste Management.
The promotion of Blue Economy will also create vast investment opportunities in the Maritime Sector including Marine Food Processing Chain, Exploitation of Exclusive Economic Zones, LPG Terminal, LNG Terminal, Silk Route and BRI Coastal Development and Shipping industry.
