KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) said on Wednesday that municipal officials would be booked if a dog bites a person.
An SHC bench, comprising Justice Aftab Ahmad and Justice Mehmood Khan, said this while hearing a petition for protecting the people from stray dogs across the province.
Municipal officers of Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Nawab Shah, Ghotki Khairpur and other areas of the province were present in the court.
They submitted the report on steps to protect the people from stray dogs but could not satisfy the court that warned area officer will be booked if any incident of dog bite happens. The court directed the deputy commissions to monitor the situation.
