ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Wednesday said that Pakistan Railways has suspended Quetta-Taftan train service, the decision is a precautionary measure against the deadly Coronavirus.

Rasheed said the train service will remain suspended till further orders and as long as the border is closed. Rashid further said: “If you have booked your luggage or other things on the trains, you can take it back.”

On the other hand, the immigration gates are also closed on the fourth day in Taftan, leaving traffic on people and vehicles suspended while visitors from both sides of the border are stranded.

Iranian transporters trapped in Tifan were allowed to travel to Iran yesterday. It should be noted that in view of the increasing cases of Corona virus in Iran, the government has closed the Pak-Iran border in Tufan while Balochistan government has also blocked entry into the province of pilgrims visiting Iran through Taftan.
