Pakistani agri experts set new history by introducing new variety of garlic: Chairman PARC

FAISALABAD:Chairman of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Muhammad Azam Khan said that Pakistani agriculture experts have set a new history by developing  new variety of garlic indigenously which can yield upto  24 tonnes per hectare.

In a statement, he said that a new variety of garlic (narcg G-1) is suitable for more output and it can be sown in all provinces. 

According to Parc chairman Dr Mohammad Azeem Khan, the new variety will not only increase earnings of the farmers but also reduce the bill of garlic imports.

Pakistan is importing 46,000  tonnes of garlic from China. However due to outbreak of Covid-19, garlic imports have been immensely affected.
