Punjab CM approves Ravi River Front Urban Development project


LAHORE : Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday has given green signal for the execution of Ravi River Front Urban Development (RRFUD) project to beautify the area.

According to details, Punjab government will prepare an ordinance for the establishment of project authority.

The project is located between Sheikhupura and Lahore, moreover it would be constructed along the River Ravi.  Initially planned project have 14 zones, including residential, commercial, mix-use zones, medical city, forest reserve and central business district. 

Under this multi-billion plan, a modern city like Dubai will be constructed on over one lac acres land in the north of Lahore.

An investment of Rs5,000 billion is expected from private sector in this regard. The new city will focus on the construction of tall buildings.
