Sept 6,1965 golden chapter in history of Pakistan: Usman Buzdar

LAHORE: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, in his message on the Defence Day, has termed the Sept 6, 1965 a golden chapter in the history of the defence of the country when the armed forces and the people stood united to retaliate against the aggression of India.

The CM said the brave sons of soil foiled the nefarious designs of the enemy while the history of the world was unable to present any such example of bravery and courage as was exhibited by the armed forces of Pakistan.

“The martyrs of 1965 war who retaliated against the insidious enemy are still alive in our hearts,” Mr Buzdar said while paying homage to the martyrdom of the heroes of 1965 war.

Meanwhile, in another open court on Sunday, the chief minister met more than 200 people from the neglected parts of the province. He also summoned heads of departments concerned to the open court for on-the-spot resolution of the public problems. He met each visitor one by one and listened to their issues. Women from far-flung areas also informed him about their problems. He issued instructions for the redress of the public grievances.

He took strict notice of the incident of the death of a girl after gang rape in Gujrat and sought a report from the Gujranwala regional police officer (RPO). The CM sought arrest of the suspect involved in this heinous crime at the earliest and provision of justice to the affected family. The police authorities informed the CM that the suspect had arrested.

Mr Buzdar also visited the awareness counter set up by the DGPR where Director General Saman Rai briefed him about the ‘Public Awareness Counter’. He expressed interest in the initiative and had a glimpse of the pamphlets, pictures and booklets on development projects displayed at the counter.

The chief minister congratulated wrestler Inam Butt for winning the gold medal in the Beach Wrestling World Series and said that the whole nation was proud of his victory.

The CM condemned the blast near Mastung Road, Quetta, and paid homage to the great sacrifice of the martyred security personnel.
