Suicide attack on Constabulary truck in Quetta

QUETTA: Several police officers were injured in a suicide attack near a Balochistan Constabulary truck in Quetta’s Baleli area on Wednesday, police said.

Quetta Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Abdul Haq Umrani, while confirming the blast said that the injured persons have been moved to the Civil Hospital Quetta.

“The area has been cordoned off and investigation has begun,” he said.

According to the police, a truck of the Balochistan Constabulary was targeted in the blast, and a vehicle passing by was also hit by it.

The injured civilians and law enforcers have been moved to Civil hospital, the police said.

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, in a statement, condemned the attack and instructed authorities to provide the injured persons best treatment facilities.

He also promised that such “cowardly acts” would not dampen Balochistan’s determination to establish peace. “All the elements involved in the incident and will be brought under the grip of the law,” Bizenjo added.
