42 Palestinians martyred in a single day by Israel
As Israel in complete defiance to international calls for ceasefire continues to strike the Gaza with brutal military offence, 42 more Palestinians including ten children have been martyred in a single day.
At least 209 Palestinians have been martyred in Israeli air strikes and artillery bombardment during the past week.
The UN Security Council which met in New York to discuss the situation in Middle East and Israeli offensive against unarmed Palestinians made no progress in solving crisis.
According to the Associated Press, efforts by China, Norway and Tunisia to get the Security Council to issue a statement calling for the cessation of hostilities were blocked by the United States.
During the session, several states called for talks between Israel and the Palestinians.
China, which holds the rotating presidency of the Security Council, offered to host Israeli-Palestinian talks.
Meanwhile, Reporters without Borders has called on International Criminal Court to investigate Israeli airstrikes targeting the media.
In a statement, RSF Secretary-General Christophe Deloire said deliberately targeting media outlets constitutes a war crime.
