Bill Gates calls Gen Qamar, hails Pakistan Army's role in polio eradication drive

RAWALPINDI: Major General Babar Iftikhar, Director General  of the ISPR, said that there was a telephone conversation between Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

According to Major General Babar Iftikhar, the dangers of corona virus and anti-polio campaign in Pakistan were discussed during the telephone conversation. COAS said that health care workers were playing an important role in the anti-polio drive.

The Chief of Army Staff further said that the Pakistan Army was playing its full role in the field of public health and the workers of the anti-polio campaign were also at the forefront of the Corona epidemic. Despite the corona virus, a polio campaign will be launched in the next few weeks.

On the occasion, Microsoft founder Bill Gates said that the Pakistan Army is playing an effective role in security and monitoring of the anti-polio campaign.

It may be recalled both had earlier also spoken on phone , during which the anti-polio campaign was also discussed.
