LONDON: Britain and the European Union have agreed to breathe new life into their stalled post-Brexit trade talks, as both sides committed to ramp up negotiations over the summer.
The agreement came during a video conference between British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen and other EU chiefs, called to take stock of progress after three months of trade talks.
A joint UK-EU statement said despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the parties agreed nevertheless that new momentum is required.
