British PM announces second national lockdown for England from Thursday

LONDON: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a second national lockdown for England from Thursday in the wake of second wave of COVID-19.

Addressing the nation, he said restaurants, gyms and non-essential shops will remain closed for four weeks.

However, schools, colleges and universities will stay open.

Boris Johnson said after 2 December, the restrictions would be eased.
