CPEC to continue to take pre-eminence in Pak development strategy: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan says China Pakistan Economic Corridor is a testimony of time-tested Pak-China friendship and it will continue to take pre-eminence in the country’s development strategy.

Presiding over a meeting to review progress on projects under CPEC in Islamabad, he reiterated the resolve to complete the projects at all cost.

The Prime Minister particularly emphasized that focus of industrialization should be export oriented and import substitution and our policies must be framed accordingly.

He also directed to prepare the country’s youth to take up new jobs being created by incoming Industry and high quality agricultural farms.

He was briefed about the progress of ongoing projects, in various sectors, under the umbrella of CPEC.

The meeting was informed that the present government not only completed the ongoing projects started by the previous government, but is able to complete large number of significant projects in just two and a half years.

It was informed that Special Economic Zones including Rashakai, Dhabeji, Allama Iqbal Industrial City and Gawadar Industrial Zones are attracting foreign and local investors.

The meeting was also informed that Chinese are expanding cooperation in agriculture and livestock sectors.
