KARACHI: Danish Kaneria, Pakistan’s former cricketer and right-arm leg spinner, has approached Sindh High Court (SHC) to enter Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) rehabilitation program.

According to details, in order to make a comeback, Danish Kaneria has

moved SHC to be a part of cricket board’s rehabilitation program.

In his plea, Kaneria stated that suffered unimaginable and incomprehensible hardships, both professionally and personally.

“I want to be a part of international league. My name has been finalized but I feel I won’t be able to play due to the ban imposed on me,” he stated in his petition.

As per rules and policies of PCB, players facing life-time ban cannot enter the rehabilitation program.

Earlier in July, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) advised Danish Kaneria to approach England Cricket board (ECB) if he wants to resume playing club or domestic cricket.

"Article 6.8 of the ECB Anti-Corruption Code, which is applicable in this case, clearly states only the chair of the anti-corruption tribunal, which has imposed a period of ineligibility on a player, had the discretion to permit the player to participate," the PCB said in a press release.

PCB reminded Kaneria that he had exhausted all his avenues to appeal against the life ban and only ECB can now review his case.
