QUETTA: Five Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers and one officer were martyred after their vehicle was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) near Pakistan-Iran border, the military’s media wing said on Friday.
The martyred personnel were identified as Major Nadeem, Naik Jamshed, Lance Naik Khizar Hayat, Lance Naik Taimor, Sepoy Nadeem and Sepoy Sajid.
In a tweet, the Inter-Services Public Relations said the security personnel were returning from patrolling in Buleda – 14 kilometres from Pakistan-Iran border – to ‘check possible routes used by terrorists in the mountainous terrain of Makran’. As they were returning, their vehicle was targeted with a remote controlled IED, it added.
