“Khan Younis and areas throughout central Gaza have also been hit with heavy artillery shelling. Residential buildings have continued to be under attack in the last few hours, particularly in Khan Younis,” the reporter adds.
An Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent says that five people were killed in an Israeli strike in the al-Masha’la neighbourhood, west of Deir el-Balah city. Numerous were also injured in the strike.
The correspondent also said Israeli strikes have again hit the Maghazi camp in central Gaza, amid fierce clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinian fighters in the area.
