Govt attaches top priority to oil, gas exploration & production: Hammad

Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar says government attaches top priority to exploration and production activities in oil and gas sector to attract foreign investment in the country.

He was talking to Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Minister for Energy apprised the Ambassador of government's initiatives in energy sector, focusing on induction of renewable energy policy to harness local resources for power generation.

Hammad Azhar also highlighted steps taken by government in energy infrastructure development across the country.

On his part, the Saudi Ambassador lauded Pakistan's efforts for the success of bilateral projects in the energy sector.

The Saudi Ambassador also invited the Minister for Energy over a three-day Future Minerals Summit, which will begin in Riyadh from Jan 11.
